A torsion spring, is a spring that exert a rotary force or torque. In short this means it's a flexible object that can store angular energy when components rotate around it. It has also the ability to release energy in the opposite direction. A typical torsion spring is close wound and the ends of the torsion spring are attached to components that rotates toward the center of the spring which will try to push them back to the original position.
